Kaitlyn's Cello Concert 11/2012

Kaitlyn had her first Cello recital this winter.  She was super nervous, but worked really hard on her song to have it memorized for the recital.  She did a great job and remembered all of the notes.  It's amazing to see how far she has come it just a few months.  She looked like she was in her own music world up there.  All of the other students were much bigger and she did well with all the pressure!

Maya Orchestra Concert 11 2012

Maya had her first orchestra concert.  She really stood out with that dark red dress on!  She looked so good up there and and was focused on what she should be doing!  It is so exciting to see her learning and growing with the violin.  It's hard not to get weepy when I watch her up there playing like a professional violinist.

Idaho Family Reunion

We went to Brian's parent's house this year for a family reunion.  We stayed there for a couple of days and had some fun activities.  The first night we went to the Chuckers baseball game.  The kids got to me the mascot.  Taygen cried the whole time he was there so she wouldn't go near him.  The other kids were and excited and wanted to talk to him and shake his hand.

On one of the days we decided to go to the Riot Zone and play for the day.  The kids got to play on  jump toys, ride in go carts, ride on boats, and climb a rock wall.

Gavin opted to use his tickets to ride around on the go carts a couple of times.

The girls really liked climbing the rockwall.  Kaitlyn was too scared to climb all the way to the top, but Maya made it all the way to the top.

Then Gavin wanted to have a go at the rockwall.  He kept climbing until he made it all the way to the top.  He didn't weigh enough to be able to get back down, so the operator had to climb up after him and pull him down!

Grandma set us up with a little treasure hunt while we were there. Everyone got to dress up as pirates to participate in the hunt. The kids loved finding the clues and getting the treasure at the end!

The crowning event for the week was going to the temple to see Hillary and Tyler get sealed to Kennedy.  It was a very special experience and we were so glad we got to be a part of it.

Lagoon

We went to Lagoon for Brian's work.  It was the first time Taygen could ride the rides.  She was pretty apprehensive at first.  She only liked the rides that she could ride on with somebody.  She loved the carousel the most.  She would not get off that ride.  She screamed and kicked and threw a huge tantrum.  So the operator let us stay on a few times. She still didn't want to get off when it was time to get off!  Maya was finally tall enough this year to ride the Rocket.  I can 't believe she is getting so big!  We just barely took her for her first time to ride the rides!  They get so big so fast!

Swim Team 2012

Kaitlyn finally wanted to try out for the summer swim team this year.  She was pretty scared about swimming in the deep water so I really didn't think she would make the team.  She surprised us all and made the team.  This was their first swim meet together.  I am always amazed at their swimming abilities because I don't swim!

Piano Recital 2012

It's that time again. The school year is over and the girls have been practicing like crazy to be ready for their annual piano recital.  It was a little more difficult to get the songs perfect with the time we had.  Their school is longer now and they don't have as much time to practice.  Still, they both played 10 songs and were nearly perfects on most.  I was mostly happy with their performance.  Their duet together sort of fell apart.  They had played this duet in sacrament meeting and did really well.  I guess it just wasn't meant to be!  Next year we may have to memorize less songs!

Dance Festival

We always had these when I was in elementary school.  It was fun to dress up and perform a dance for your families at the end of school.  I have been disappointed that they didn't do this at their other school.  It was fun to come to their new school and see their performances.   I couldn't get a very good picture of Kaitlyn dancing because she was on the other end.
